BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Erie County Democratic Committee Chair and Board of Elections Commissioner Jeremy Zellner says he will be stepping down from his role as commissioner in January for a run in the state senate.

Zellner hopes to secure the democratic nomination for New York State Senate for the 61st District, which is the district newly elected Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan previously represented.
