The Lokayukta Special Court on Friday convicted KB Ramakrishna Reddy,Divisional Traffic Controller at the BMTC office in Yeshwanthpur, in a disproportionate assets case.
He was sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs.70 lakh.
Reddy was raided in March 2014 by a team comprising the Lokayukta,DYSP CW Poovaiah,and Inspector KS Muniyappa,after which a charge sheet was filed against him.
Investigations revealed that he possessed movable and immovable assets totaling Rs.61.4 lakh,which was 29.8% higher than his known sources of income.
The case was trialed at the 23rd Additional City Civil and Sessions Court,which found Reddy guilty.
The court also ruled that if he fails to pay the fine,he will have to serve an additional six months of simple imprisonment.
