LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg confirmed 12 people are dead following a plane crash, with three likely crew members and nine others still unidentified. Families of 15 victims are seeking information.
Greenberg said the city is in the recovery phase and officials do not yet know if the death toll will rise. “At this point, there could be more confirmed fatalities,” he said.
Officials said crews were well-equipped and making progress. “You saw that half-mile-long fire. It’s now just charred wreckage,” Greenberg said, noting the coordinated response of local, state, and federal agencies, including fire departments that worked nearly 24 hours to extinguish the blaze.
