Recently, USDA and FDA requested data and information to help develop a uniform definition of ultra-processed foods, or UPFs, for human food products in the U.S. food supply.

One of the organizations weighing in on the issue was the Ohio Soybean Association. The organization sent a letter emphasizing how soybean growers work to provide safe and nutritious products for consumers, and how products like soybean oil play a crucial role in the food system as an ingredient in dozens of packaged goods and as a heart-healthy oil for cooking.
