BEAVER, WV (WVNS) -- Shelter in place orders are something that can go hand-in-hand with a situation like the plane crash in Louisville - especially when hazardous chemicals could be involved.
A shelter in place order is issued by the local government and means just that - stay where you are.
Will Davis, Public Information Officer with the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department, said there are a few things to do to keep yourself safe when sheltering.
"If you are in your home, go to an interior room of your home. Shut off any fans, close windows, close doors, and if you're able to, seal a door, either with plastic, tape or even wet towels. That's the best way to stay safe in a shelter in place order," said Davis.
