With a Thursday 5 p.m., EST deadline looming, the Yankees were still undecided Wednesday on offering free agent center fielder Trent Grisham a $22.025 million qualifying offer.
The final decision is up to Yankees managing partner Hal Steinbrenner, who was presented the plusses and minuses by general manager Brian Cashman.
The two-time Gold Glove winner hit .235 with a career-best 34 homers and 74 RBI in 2025, but he struck out 137 times in 581 plate appearances. Also, he has a .218 lifetime average over seven seasons with the Brewers (2019), Padres (2020-23) and Yankees (2024-25) and his defensive metrics this season ranked below average.
