A massive shark has washed dead up on a north-east beach in heartbreaking photos.
Peter MacDonald , a retiree and wildlife photographer, spotted the 12ft basking shark in Portgordon near Buckie .
The huge shark is the third to wash up on a Scottish beach in weeks, with a porbeagle shark washed up in Wick and a blue nose shark discovered in Shetland.
While Peter regularly sees washed-up wildlife on his nature walks, the 12ft shark was a first for him. He said: "It was lying on the beach just outside of Portgordon.
