BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) - The WVSSAC State Soccer Championships kicked off with some action-packed AA/A games.
It all started on the morning of Wednesday, November 5, 2025 with top-seeded Saint Joseph Central facing off against undefeated Braxton County. Braxton striker Zack McQuain came into the game flying high with a goal total topping 60. That equates to almost a hat-trick a game.
St. Joseph grounded the Eagles behind a Brier Wagner brace, with a final score of 6-0.
On the other side of the bracket, the Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knight boys took on the Frankfort Falcons. That Falcon defense was huge, until Central Catholic’s Luke Magruder cracked their code for the Maroon Knights’ first goal. Central won this one 3-0, and will face the St. Joseph in the championship Friday.
