A coastguard rescue helicopter is currently flying above the cliffs near a beach in Torquay. The chopper was first spotted at Walls Hill, Babbacombe at around 2.30pm.

It is currently unclear why the helicopter has been despatched but footage shows it hovering over the coastline, with reports an RNLI lifeboat is also in attendance.

Several videos shared on social media show the helicopter flying above the cliffs before lowering its winch down to the rocky cliffs.
