Ola Electric is on a bumpy-ride again, as South Korea’s LG Energy Solution (LGES) has alleged Ola of gaining access to its proprietary pouch-type ternary lithium-ion battery manufacturing technology was leaked to the Indian EV maker.

THE ALLEGATION

According to news reports, a former LG researcher is under investigation by the National Intelligence Service, Seoul Metropolitan Police, and LG Energy Solution for allegedly transferring pouch-type ternary lithium-ion battery production processes and manufacturing know-how to Ola Electric. The researcher apparently admitted to transferring data but claimed he was unaware of its confidential nature.

An LG Energy Solution official confirmed that the company had identified the situation early and immediately alerted authorities.
