WARREN A Niles man who was charged with raping a teenage girl in Weathersfield Township pled guilty on Thursday.
According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 53-year-old Charles Shultz pled guilty to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and tampering with evidence.
A sentencing date will be set following a pre-sentence investigation.
Shultz's charges stem from an investigation that began in August of 2024 in which a 15-year-old girl was found to have had sex with Shultz. Prosecutors say Shultz tried to alter the DNA collection procedure during that investigation.
As part of his sentence, Shultz will have to register as a tier 2 sex offender twice a year for 25 years.
