YOUNGSTOWN A Warren man who pled guilty to rape and gross sexual imposition case in Mahoning County has learned his fate on Thursday.

Fifty-year-old Daniel Ortiz-Torres of Warren was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison on one count each of rape, a felony in the first degree, and gross sexual imposition, a felony in the third degree.

Ortiz-Torres pled guilty to these charges in September of 2025. He was originally indicted on a total of 21 counts in 2023, but all of his other charges were dismissed as part of a plea deal.

According to an indictment, the two charges Ortiz-Torres was sentenced on stem from conduct that occurred between January of 2015 and July of 2022, when the victim was between the ages of 10 and 17 years old.
