BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - In honor of the upcoming Veterans Day, the La. Office of Motor Vehicles is donating $135,000 in funds collected from Louisiana residents to help military families.
Representatives from the OMV delivered the check to the La. Department of Veterans Affairs for its Military Family Assistance Fund on Thursday, Nov. 6.
According to the OMV, Louisiana residents have donated more than $135,000 to the Military Family Assistance Fund since 2020 by donating $1 when obtaining their driver’s license or identification card at the Louisiana OMV customer service centers or public tag agent locations. Nearly $25,000 has been collected in the last year.
