LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola is on the road to recovery after undergoing a successful surgery in New York to heal a broken fibula.
Raiola posted a photo on social media Wednesday from his hospital bed in Manhattan, New York with the caption: “Successful surgery! Thank y’all for the constant love and support!! The road back starts now! God’s got it written!!”
Raiola went down midway through the third quarter of the USC game on a passing play. He was sacked and fumbled the ball when a USC defender brought him to the ground from behind.
Head coach Matt Rhule said Raiola will be out for the remainder of the season . The recovery period could last around eight to 10 weeks.
