Single and two-person households could receive as little as $12 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program funding for November, according to a U.S. Department of Agriculture memo dated Tuesday.

The memo, sent to regional SNAP directors, covered the 50% food stamp payments families would receive for this month as a result of the ongoing federal government shutdown.

That guidance included a chart of the maximum and minimum payment for households before deductions.

In the revised tables, according to the section labeled "reduced minimum SNAP allotments," in the continental United States single or two-person homes would receive $12. It does not indicate whether that is $12 total or $12 per person.
