WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin an emergency reinforcement project on a highway bridge east of El Dorado.
The project is expected to start on the U.S. Highway 54 Walnut River bridge on Monday. KDOT said the work will reinforce a pier that supports the bridge.
Traffic is expected to continue as usual between then and the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. No work will be done during the busy Thanksgiving travel weekend.
KDOT has plans to replace the bridge in the future.
