Five out of 12 school bond initiatives in Oakland County did not pass on election day and those districts are reevaluating their options to pay for infrastructure and technology projects.
The closest vote was in Lake Orion where a 20-year, $272-million school improvement bond proposal failed by just 65 votes with over 10,000 people voting.
The results are unofficial until certified. According to the Oakland County Clerk’s office, voter turnout in the county was 26%
BLOOMFIELD HILLS
Bloomfield Hills voters approved replacing and extending their current sinking fund millage for 10 years at a tax rate of 1.5-mills, an 0.8-mill increase over the expiring levy.
Voters approved the millage 63% yes to 37% no.
The proposal replaces an expiring millage and is expected to generate an average
