BIS launches digital hallmarking pilot; Could this make jewelry verification safer and more transparent?

BIS has launched a pilot project across 25 centres to modernize hallmarking of gold and silver jewellery. The initiative captures photos and weight of each piece, records them digitally on the BIS portal, and allows customers to verify authenticity via the BIS Care app.
