Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 6: The Juvenile Justice Committee, High Court at Calcutta, organized a programme on ‘Strengthening the Role of Investigation, Prosecution and Judiciary, particularly in POCSO Cases’ on Nov. 4 in the Court Hall of Circuit Bench of Calcutta High Court at Port Blair. The Hon’ble Justice Shampa Sarkar, Judge, High Court at Calcutta and Hon’ble Chairperson, Juvenile Justice Committee (JJC) set the tone of the discussion. The Hon’ble Justice Ananya Bandyopadhyay, Judge, High Court at Calcutta graced the occasion. The primary objective for organizing this programme was to make a concerted effort to eliminate the persistent gaps that threaten the effective implementation of the POCSO Act, 2012 and find ways to obliterate them.
