A Detroit man has been charged in the sexual assault of a 5-year-old girl last month at a fast-food restaurant on the city's west side, officials said.

Joshua Joel-Eli Brown, 34, was arraigned Wednesday in 36th District Court in Detroit, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said.

He is charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to authorities.

A magistrate set his bond at $250,000 and scheduled his next court hearing for Nov. 13. A hearing to re-determine his bond is scheduled for Friday.

If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison and lifetime electronic monitoring.

Court records did not list an attorney for the defendant on Thursday. The records show he requested the court appoint an attorney to represent him.
