FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police are warning families to be cautious about AI-generated images circulating online, saying the technology can be used in harmful ways — especially when it comes to child safety.

In a new episode of their Internet Safety Video Series , the KSP Electronic Crime Branch and Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky explain how artificial intelligence can produce fake photos that look convincingly real.

KSP officials urge parents and social media users to stay alert, think critically about what they see online, and question images that seem unusual.

They say the message is simple: when it comes to the internet, what you see isn’t always what it seems.
