COLUMBUS — The Toledo SeaGate Food Bank is receiving $570,937.50 from the state of Ohio as the federal shutdown continues, Gov. Mike DeWine announced Thursday.

While the U.S. Department of Agriculture may provide partial Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits in November, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services does not expect SNAP benefits to be immediately available, according to the governor’s office.

The Toledo food bank funding is part of a $7 million package approved by Mr. DeWine through an executive order. The amounts are based on the food bank’s percentage of customers in the SNAP caseload.

Others receiving funding are the Freestore Foodbank ($795,637.50), Greater Cleveland Food Bank ($1,170,837.50), Mid-Ohio Food Collective ($1,440,337.50), Shared Harvest
