UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (PIX11) — Multiple exhibits, paintings and tapestries were damaged at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, according to sources.
Joshua Vaurin, 19, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief in connection with the defaced artwork at the Met, police said.
A 911 call came in just before 5 p.m. on Monday at the museum for multiple damaged exhibits, according to police.
In total, four exhibits were damaged, including two paintings that had water poured on them and two rugs torn from their wall mounts, sources said.
No injuries were reported.
