The Florida High School Athletic Association released its brackets for regional football tournaments on Thursday afternoon.

There were a few notable developments for Sarasota and Manatee area teams.

Southeast High, despite having an 8-2 record, was left out of the playoffs. Manatee slipped from No. 2 in the region to No. 3 due to a loss to Riverview in the final week of the regular season. Parrish, despite being a No. 3 seed, will have to hit the road to open the playoffs because it is facing a district champion. Finally, Venice held onto the top spot in its region over Riverview even though the Indians did not play in the final week and the Rams defeated the Hurricanes.
