Maryland Rep. Johnny Olszewski addressed the ongoing federal government shutdown, its effects on federal employees and businesses, and the potential for bipartisan compromise to resolve it.
Olszewski spoke on the T.J. Smith Show Thursday morning. When asked about the shutdown, which is now the longest in history, the congressman highlighted the impact, including air traffic control and food benefits, which he said are being withheld by the Trump administration.
“This is now the longest government shutdown in American history, the longest we’ve ever gone without our government being open,” Olszewski said. “We know that our federal employees are suffering and being used as political pawns.”
