Environment Canada is forecasting the first snowfall of the season for southern Ontario beginning Sunday. A system bringing colder air will change rain to flurries and accumulating snow expected in parts of the Waterloo region.
Most areas are expected to receive less than 5 cm of snow, while some locations along the 401 corridor and higher elevations could see 5-10 cm. The Weather Network is forecasting temperatures on Sunday are expected to fall to 0 C and will feel closer to -5 C.
After several days of strong winds and scattered showers, Environment Canada says conditions will continue shifting toward a more winterlike pattern in the coming days. Residents are encouraged to prepare for the season’s first snowfall and the possibility of slippery travel conditions.
