A coastal flood statement was released by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 3:01 p.m. valid for Friday between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. for Nassau County.

The weather service describes, "Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."

"Brief minor flooding of the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some water on low-lying roads and property," comments the weather service. "Do not drive through flooded roadways."
