Center Line — Two days after a "raucous" City Council meeting in which some vocal attendees were asked to leave, Center Line's city manager said the Public Safety Department had pulled out of an agreement to help U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement identify and arrest immigrants who are in the United States illegally.
City Manager Dennis Champine said in a Wednesday press release that Monday's City Council meeting prompted his decision to withdraw a memorandum of understanding with ICE to participate in the federal agency's 287(g) program.
