NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - Four people were shot and a young woman was killed on a busy Halloween night in downtown New Haven.

New Haven police said they’re making progress investigating this quadruple shooting.

Officers are looking at cameras and identifying cars that may have been involved.

The shooting happened downtown where cameras are everywhere.

However, the chief said they likely had 7,000 people out on Halloween night and early Saturday morning when the bullets started flying near Church Street.

“It was just chaotic, everyone trying to take care of themselves,” said Quinn Matthers of New Haven.

She recalled hearing the initial shots and seeing the police lights while trying to get home on Halloween.
