CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - ESPN was first to report that the Browns front office is getting a little bit of a shake up. Chief Strategy Officer Paul DePodesta is leaving the organization so he can return to baseball, joining the Colorado Rockies.
DePodesta joined the Browns in 2016, bringing his analytical lens to an organization that had frequently made bad decisions. DePodesta was said to be on of the leading voices against the team drafting Carson Wentz with the second overall pick in the 2016 draft. He also championed Kevin Stefanski as a coaching candidate more than once when the team was looking for a head coach.
DePodesta will take over as Colorado’s head of baseball operations.
