MACON, Ga. — Veterans Day is celebrated on Nov. 11 and there are many events across Central Georgia honoring America's veterans.

Here's a list of Veterans Day events in Central Georgia:

Cherry Blossom Veterans Day 5k

A portion of proceeds from the race will benefit the Georgia Department of Veterans Service Foundation, an organization that helps veterans remain in their homes in Central Georgia through utility and rent or mortgage assistance.

Where: Middle Georgia State University

When: Nov. 8 at 7 a.m.

Veterans Day Parade

Patriotic-themed floats, military units, marching bands and more will be at the parade to honor hometown heroes.

Where: Downtown Macon

When: Nov. 9 at 3 p.m.

Veterans Day Golf Tournament
