DELTA, Colo. (KREX) — On Wednesday, the City of Delta announced the retirement of its Police Chief Luke Fedler, who has served in the role for almost nine years.
"Chief Fedler’s leadership has guided our organization through important periods of change," said Mayor Kevin Carlson. "We are deeply grateful for his service to the department and the community. We wish him the very best in his next chapter."
Chief Fedler's retirement will be effective on Thursday, Nov. 7. Before the City of Delta begins its formal process to identify the individual who will become the next permanent Police Chief, Commander Jesse Cox, a veteran member of the Delta Police Department, has been appointed as the Interim Chief of Police.
