MONROE, La. (KNOE) -The Cooktown Bridge and surrounding intersections in Ruston are set to begin construction in late December.

Louisiana D-O-T-D is in charge of the $39 million project that features a new bridge and three roundabouts.

The new bridge will be located just west of the current one. Two of the roundabouts will be North and one south of the bridge.

Crews are currently relocating utility wires at the site but won’t break ground until later this year.

Project officials say it will take up to 4 years to complete.

You can visit the D-O-T-D website for more updates once construction starts.
