WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- Westport Police Department detectives are searching for a firearm that was reportedly discarded after an alleged armed robbery of an armored truck carrying cash outside of a bank on Thursday afternoon.
According to police, at around 12:33 p.m. on Thursday, it was reported that two suspects dressed in all black and masks accosted an armored car driver after he took a cash deposit from a Wells Fargo Bank located at 422 Post Road East.
The victim reported that one of the suspects pointed what he described as a revolver-style weapon at him while the other took him to the ground to take his bank bag, firearm, keys, phone and scanner.
