SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Students spent their morning cleaning the banks along Fassnight Creek as part of a partnership between Wonders of Wildlife and Springfield Public Schools’ Wonders of the Ozarks Learning Facility.

The cleanup is part of a statewide effort by the Missouri Stream Team to support cleaning waterways across the state.

“We’ve adopted the section of Fasnight Creek, and do 2 to 3 cleanups a year,” said an education manager with the Johnny Morris Conservation Foundation. “And this has been a great opportunity for us to also participate in a competition, with the other statewide zoos and aquariums, and help clean up our waterway.”
