An annual tradition between Connecticut Foodshare and Tweed New Haven Airport is gaining a new local partner.

G Cafe Bakery is the latest local business that will contribute to Connecticut Foodshare as organizations work to address food insecurity across the state.

Christian Festa, co-owner of G Cafe Bakery, said ever since they opened in New Haven 15 years ago, they’ve strived to give back to the community.

"The community has helped us grow and therefore as part of the growth we believe in obviously giving back in any form we can,” Festa said.

G-Cafe Bakery donated $5,000 to Connecticut Foodshare, matching the donation from Tweed New Haven Airport for a total of $10,000.
