Chester got its toughest test of the season last week in the opening round of the District 1 Class 5A tournament against Marple Newtown.

The Clippers had to grind through adversity to pull it out. Down three points in the fourth quarter, senior quarterback Jalen Harris took control. He hit Shadrach George on a 42-yard strike that gave Harris the Delco career passing record with 7,590 yards.

That record would have meant little without a win. So with 1:31 remaining, Harris kept the ball on a quarterback run and powered in from five yards for the go-ahead score. The No. 2 seed Clippers held on for a 15-10 win over the 15th-seeded Tigers.
