MADISON (WKOW) -- Six Wisconsin gubernatorial candidates gathered at Monona Terrace this week to discuss their plans for the state's future.
The forum featured five Democrats and one Republican, focusing on the economy, infrastructure, and the environment.
A key topic was the rise of artificial intelligence and the expansion of data centers in Wisconsin. Some see AI investment as an opportunity for growth, while others worry about environmental and energy impacts.
"90% of the investment we are seeing right now is coming out of AI," said Democrat Missy Hughes, former head of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
