Comparing the proposed Studio Infrastructure and Workforce Training Act to other states’ film tax programs, it’s clear that Nevada’s approach is more responsible, more innovative and better designed to serve Nevadans.
This is not by accident.
When Assembly Ways and Means Chair Daniele Monroe-Moreno and I began crafting this legislation, we set out to model successful examples and modify those to meet Nevada’s unique landscape. We looked at how other states and countries approached film production and job creation. What we built is not another open-ended tax incentive; it’s a targeted economic strategy that invests in Nevadans and builds a permanent creative economy for our state.
For example, Georgia’s program attracted productions, but it’s an open checkbook — no cap, no workforce fund
