ROSWELL, N.M. —

Police made an arrest after an hourslong response to a shooting at a home in Roswell.

Officers responded to West Third Street after Michael Loranca, 44, was accused of firing multiple gunshot rounds in the backyard of a home. No one was hurt in the shooting.

It was found Loranca was intoxicated and had access to several firearms inside the house, according to the Roswell Police Department. This led to Loranca refusing to exit the home after police commands.

Police negotiators were able to speak with Loranca, which led to him exiting the home after spending about two hours inside, according to police. He was taken into custody around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6.
