In a powerful milestone for Holocaust remembrance, Yad Vashem — the World Holocaust Remembrance Center — has successfully recovered the names of 5 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust.
The achievement marks the culmination of seven decades of meticulous research, which is central to Yad Vashem’s mission to restore the identities of those the Nazis sought to erase from history.
The names are preserved in Yad Vashem’s Central Database of Shoah Victims’ Names, which is available online in six languages.
