LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Lexington County’s newest grocery store is officially open, marking a major milestone for Red Bank’s $65 million Platt Springs Crossing development.
The new Lowes Foods, located at 5436 Platt Springs Road, welcomed customers for the first time Thursday morning. The 51,000-square-foot grocery store sits at the center of a 57-acre mixed-use project that will soon include restaurants, fitness centers, medical offices, and 142 new townhomes.
“I think it’s nice, Lexington County is so big, and I think it’s really nice, if anything this just as good as Whataburger,” one shopper said.
Lexington County leaders say the placement of the development was intentional as Red Bank continues to grow.
