Nashville Police say they've arrested the man they say drove around South Nashville Nov. 5 while firing a stolen AR-15 rifle.
The 24-year-old suspect has three felony theft convictions, police say, noting a theft conviction out of Rutherford County from January 2021, and auto burglary and theft convictions out of Williamson County from September 2020.
The man allegedly fired shots for more than an hour and 20 minutes from several locations, including the parking lot of Plaza Mariachi, the 3500 block of Calais Circle, the parking lot of a strip shopping center at 3804 Nolensville Pike, and in the area of a mobile home park on Waikiki Boulevard.
Officers deployed a spike strip near the intersection of Bell Road and Stewarts Ferry Pike and arrested the suspect. They were able to recover
