United Airlines is offering refunds to all passengers who are traveling during the flight reductions ordered by the FAA starting on Nov. 7.
The ongoing government shutdown will lead to a 10% reduction in flights across 40 major airports starting Friday morning, said Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
Newark Airport will be one of the airports affected by the flight cuts.
United said in a release that anyone who is traveling during the flight reduction period will be eligible for a refund, even if their flights are not impacted.
The airline said they will contact customers directly if their flight is part of the reductions or changes.
“We'll use our app, website and push notifications to communicate to customers directly if their flight changes, and to offer rebooking options,”
