Six firefighters were injured following a car explosion in the Longwood section of The Bronx on Tuesday, Nov. 5, FDNY officials said.

A spokesperson said the department received a 911 call at 7.06 p.m. for a report of a car fire / explosion at 955 Westchester Avenue, Intervalue Avenue, and Kelly Street in the Longwood section of The Bronx.

The spokesperson said six firefighters incurred injuries and were transported to Jacobi Medical Center for evaluation. A press conference was held later at Jacobi Hospital.
