ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A new candidate may be entering the New York gubernatorial race. NEWS10 is hearing from multiple sources that a campaign announcement is expected from Rep. Elise Stefanik on Friday.

Stefanik teased as much Thursday during an interview on "The Story with Martha McCallum."

"It will be very, very soon, and people are excited, and the overwhelming support from the Republican Party, from the Conservative Party, and many democrats, who previously supported Kathy Hochul, are lining up in support," she told the Fox News anchor.
