TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating after a person was shot in a west Toledo shopping plaza Thursday night.

Authorities responded to a call of a person shot in the Executive Market Place, near Executive Parkway and Secor Road, shortly after 8:30 p.m., where they reportedly found a man shot.

Investigators on scene tell WTOL 11 that the shooting appeared to have started inside Zaza Wood-Fired Pizza & Mediterranean Cuisine following an attempted robbery of the location. WTOL confirmed that the robber was the one who was shot, but police stated it remains unclear who shot him.

Several evidence markers near the storefront and a CSI van were also visible on the scene.
