WASHINGTON STATE – Washington Senator Patty Murray has publicly criticized the Trump administration's recent legal move to appeal a Rhode Island federal judge's decision about Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funding for November.

Murray expressed her concerns on X Thursday night, emphasizing the impact on military veterans. She stated that President Donald Trump's actions could leave "1.2 million" veterans at risk of hunger without access to SNAP benefits.

She described the decision as "disgraceful" and called for others to join her in speaking out against the administration's position on SNAP funding.
