HAMPDEN -- The undefeated Foxcroft Academy Ponies came away with the Class C North title on Thursday afternoon after defeating the MCI Huskies 5-1.
In the opening minutes of the first quarter, the Ponies started their scoring spree when sophomore Ava Dunton capitalized on a penalty corner opportunity to put Foxcroft up 1-0 early.
After the Ponies surged to a 2-0 lead in the first, the Huskies answered back in the second when freshman Audrey Baker struck the back of the net for the score.
Freshman Addie Rayfield closed things out for the Ponies in the fourth quarter when she netted her second goal of the game, leading Foxcroft to a 5-1 victory and punching their ticket to the Class C State Title game.
