A federal judge in Rhode Island ordered the Trump administration to deliver SNAP payments in full to the states by Friday.

The order was issued Thursday afternoon by U.S. District Judge John McConnell. He wrote in part, "The defendants overlook the fundamental point that compliance is achieved when Americans are fed, not when the federal government shifts the administrative burden of disbursing funds onto the States—especially when there is still no clear disbursement date in sight."

The Trump administration has already filed a notice saying they intend to appeal this ruling, further delaying when funds are restored.
